A friend mentioned how her husband’s continual sneezing drove her batty. She said it wasn’t until she got very ill that she became so aware of how precious life is and how she had complained about something so insignificant.
Do all things without grumbling & complaining...that you may show yourselves to be children of God in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world, and offering [to all men] the Word of Life. Philippians 2:14-16 The Word tells us to do all things without grumbling & complaining. The verse following this gives us the WHY we should not grumble. Since we live right in the middle of a dark generation, 'we' are the ones who are called to shine as lights giving all men the Word of Life!
If we allow ourselves to continue in our grumbling, we lose our effectiveness as light to be clearly seen in the darkness. How can we impact the lives of others around us, with good, if we cannot see past our self?
