Shooting the messenger is a phrase that describes the act of lashing out at the bearer of an unpopular message. There is an author of the message & there is the messenger of the message.
Interestingly, God has always chosen humans (who know Him) to be His messengers.
Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, gave the people this message from the Lord: "I am with you." Haggai 1:13
Sometimes He sends encouragement & sometimes corrective messages, but always through love for our sake.
Don't shoot the messenger to you today. The message is that God, because of His great love, offers the way back for you to be in a real relationship with Him. Because sin separates us from knowing Him, Jesus paid the penalty for our sin on the cross, to provide this way back.
God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Whoever puts his trust in God’s Son will not be lost but will have life that lasts forever. John 3:16
A message of encouragement to anyone who will believe!
